Dr. 'Thackcr has' addressed a letter to the Prinid Minister 'asking tho_ Government to set up a Royal Commission to take evidence as to the methods of and complaints concerning medical boards' examinations of, reservist's and the medical treatment of soldiers in camp and on leave, and the treatment 'when given extended leave without pay. He says it is absolutely impossible that' reservists should bo sent into camp, retained for a few days, and then given extended leave without pay. These men were still uncertain of their military future, and the procedure caused ail enormous waste of public money. Mr. Massey says the matter is one for tho consideration of Cabinet.
