KARORI AFFAIRS
1 A brief meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last evening. In tho absence of the Mayor, Councillor A. Hamilton presided. The engineer, in bis fortnightly report, stated- on Anniversary Day three picnics wero to be held on the Park, and in February tho Wellington Regiment would undergo its annual training on tho Pari;. The work at the school playground had been commenced on January 4. A communication was received from tho Wellington City Council suggesting that a piece of borough land near tho viaduct should be set aside as a city and suburban reserve. The communication was adjourned till next meeting. "They want ns to make them a present of it," was the comment of one of the. councillors. 1 ■ ' "i
