PRINCE'S CONTRABAND TRADE

SWISS FOOD FOR GERMANY. | From Switzerland (says tho "Glasgow Herald") comes strange news concerning Prince Adolf von Wrede, Cham, bcrlain to the King of Bavaria. Since last winter, it appears, he has been living in a well-conditioned apartment at Territet with his wife, a wealthy Argentine lady. As the result of conjugal disputes she recently disclosed certain facts to the polico. It seemsthat for months past the people at Territet noticed that great quantities of all kinds of food wero constantly delivered at the Prince's residence. The continual going and coming of his automobile ladon with packing-cases had also been remarked. Subsequently to tho quarrel with his wife the Prince left Territet, and later his apartments were raided by the polico. It has now transpired that he rented also a chalet near St. Croix, where an enormous quantity of provisions had been discovered. It is stated that the Prince carried «on a regular- contraband trade. Besides taking goods from Territet to Germany by automobile, he had also his vast storehouse in the mountains to draw upon. ' An important item in the story is that Prince von AVrede is believed to be the chief of the German csoionatrc. in Switzerland. Becoming alarmed, lie returned to Territet, seeking to cross the German frontier in his motorcar. Ho failed in this, and has been arrested. It is said there are other Germans implicated in the affair.
