WESTPORT HARBOUR RETURNS, l'ho port of Westport return for the month of December, 1917, are as follow Output and export of coal; Westport Coal Company, Ltd. During the month 48 steamers, representing 28,168 tons, entered the port, and 49 steamers, representing; 29.397 tons, left the port; total tonnago for tho month, 57,565.
The Te Anau will arrive at Wellington this morning from Auckland and Lyttolton. To-night sh« will sail direct for Dunedin. Mr. J. Georgeson has signed on the Coriumi as third officer. Mr. E. J. Looney, chiet engineer, 011 the Kini, has come ashore. Tho movements of the Talnui hive been alterod. She will, now arrive at Wellington from Wanganui on Wednesday returning to that port In the evening. Messrs. G. T. Hull and Co., advise that the Putiki will arrive at Wellington today from Lyttelton instead Of to-morrow from Nelson. To-morrow shu will nail for Nelson, taking cargo. Messrs. Cathie Dempster and Co., received advice yesterday that the Wootton would not proceed to Wellington from Nelson, but would return for Lyttelton from which pott she would arrive at Wellington on Wednesday afternoon. The vessel will Bail for the southern port on Thursday at 5 p.m. Tho Orepuki, with a full load of timber from Groymouth, is due at Wellington on Friday. On Saturday she will s ' with general oargo for Lyttelton. Tho departure of the Kowhai for New Plymouth will be taken at noon to-day, and that of the Corinna for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru at 0 p.m. Nelson, Weßtport and Greyinouth arc tho portj of call of the Alexander, sailing at 5 p.m. to-day. Cargo will, be taken for Hokitika also. The vessel is due at Wellington this morning with cement from Tarakohc. The Calm is to sail this afternoon for Picton and Wanganui, taking cargo from Wellington. s - The Komata went on the slip yesterday morning for overhaul, which will be finished about Wednesday. The Hinemoa adjusted bet compasses yesterday morning and will sail to-day at 5 pm. for her round trip of the northern lighthouses. A renort. has reached Queenstown from Martin's Bay (Bays the Wakatinu "Jtnil") to the edect that a quantity of wreckage is being washed ashore at Big Bay and Martin's Bay. No less than 17 hatches olt a vessel have been seen on the beaches, also spars, deck planking, etc., all of which aro considerably broken.
