A WORLD-WIDE SHORTAGE APPEAL TO AGRICULTURAL LABOURERS (R«c. January 6, 6.5 p.m.) London, January 4. Mr. Lloyd George, in a message to the agricultural' labourers, appeals to them to do tlieir utmost to, grow more .food. Hβ says: "There will be'a'worldwide ehortage of food. Food Controller, Lord Rhondda, lias ordered that from January 21 children Tiiider eighteen months shall Iβ allowed no more than a pint and a half of milk daily; thoso between eighteen months and five years, ono pint; end invalids are to be allowed the quantities medically recommended. Butchers stood in long queues at Smithfiekl before daylight, but the wholesalers were without mutton.
