This flock was established in 1895 with Romney. ewes, from Hawke's Bay, and rams from the "VVairarapa, and the standard has been maintained since by importations from the best flocks in the Dominion, and their records in the show ring have confirmed the quality of Flock No. 177. Ngahuha Romneys are known as short-legged, robust, active sheep, covered with good quality, dense, medium wool.
