RESIGNATION OF THE PREMIER. St, John's (Newfoundland), Jan. 3. Sir Edward Morris, Premier of Newfoundland, has resigned. Ho will bo succeeded by Mr. William Lloyd. Sir Edward Morris is likely_ to bo appointed High Commissioner in' Lon-don.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [Sir Edward Morris has been Premier of Newfoundland since 1909. Ho was elected M.P. for St. John's in 1885, and entered. the Cabinet four years later. He represented his colony at the Imperial Defence Conference of 1909, and at the Imperial Conference of 1911; and lias received tho Freedom of the chief cities in England and Scotland, and honorary degrees from the leading universities. v Mr. Lloyd, late Leader of Ihe Opposition, was appointed Minister of Justice and Acting-Premier in tho Coalition Ministry-]
