BOWLING
DOMINION TOURNAMENT NEXT WEEK. At the end of the present and the beginning of next week there will ho an exodus of bowlers south. The Dominion Association's big tournament will commence at Dunedin oil Thursday of next week, and will be continued from then to the following Saturday week. Many rinks have been entered from Wellington, so that many familiar faces will be missed from the local greens for a couplo of weeks to come. The Island Bay Club is to open its new green to-morrow afternoon. The property has been graced by a pavilion of modern design, which, though small, will be sufficient for the requirements of the club for many years to come. It is fronted with a spacious oriol window,! from which a comfortable view of the green may be obtained. Half a dozen of the principal clubs have been invited to send rinks to the opening. THE AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT. In the final of the Auckland Centre's bowling tournament, played on New Year's Day, Maxwell Walker (Poi\sonby) beat M'Robie (Remuera). The first game resulted in a tie, but instead of playing an extra head another game was played in the afternoon, when Walker won, 20—18. Both games were packed with interest.
