REVIEWED BY HIGH MILITARY AUTHORITY
ENEMY FORCED OYER THE PIAYE BRITISH CAPTURES ON WEST FRONT AMERICA'S PREPARATIONS The Italians havo dislodged the enemy from the on© important bridgehead lie had gained west of the Piave, but with the exception of this item there is comparatively little war news to-day. The various campaigns are interestingly reviewed, however, by the British "high military authority," who considers, amongst other things, tho possibility of a big German offensivo in tho Western theatre. Particulars aro given also of tho heavy captures effected by the British in that area during 1917. It is stated that although detail information on the subject is studiously withheld, American troops are pouring into France in considerable numbers. Conflicting accounts are given of the progress of Russo-'Cerman negotiations at Brest Litovek.
