Two privates in the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, named Newton and Starkoy, who had fought in France, were sentenced at Nottingham Assizes to 15 months' imprisonment for highway robbery with violence. The schoolchildren of Potters Ihr/ collected ,1 ton and a half of chestnuts, which wero sent from the vicarage to the Ministry of Munitions. .
