DEATH OF REAR-ADMIRAL BRIDGES
(Rec. December 30, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 30 Roar-Admiral Bridges, a former commander on the Australasian Station, is dead.—Press Association. [Rear-Admiral Bridges entered tho Navy in 1856 as naval cadet on board the Royal Albert, flagship of Admiral Lord Lyons, commander-in-chief in the Black Sea and Mediterranean. Ho afterwards served in the English Channel and North Sea, West Indies, and North America, Coast ot Africa and Australasian stations, and Pacific Islands. He was made captain in 1884, and a roar-admiral on the retired list in 1899.]
