Mothers' Badges. The Women's National .Reserve held a most successful gathering for mothdrs of soldiers and sailors on December 18 at the Town Hall, Stratford. The' beautiful new hall was packed. Tho badges ivere presented by Mrs. Hine, wife of the member for the district. A very enjoyable musical programme! was provided, and the Mayoress (Mrs. M'Millan) received the guests. iA. very happy and enjoyable afternoo.n was brought to a close by the singing of the National Antheni. All girls and young women will bo warmly welcomed, arid it is hoped that all members and friends will endeavour to attend so that all may be inspired to greater efforts in tho new year. During the past week at tho association headquarters there have been Christmas gatherings for girls away from home, and a very happy tea, party gathered on Christmas Day. On Boxing Day, a motor picnic was held at Maori Bank, and tho happy timo enjoyed there by the merry jnirty of girls resulted in a similar picnic being planned, to be held at Akatarawa on New Year's Day. To-night at 8 o'clock an evening's fun has been arranged for soldiers and friends froni camp. Returned soldiers will be very welcome.
