HAMBURG BIRTH-RATE FALLING
The birth-rate in Hamburg, Germany, according to the latest weekly statistics, has fallen below 7.7 per thousand, as compared wijjli 9.1 during the first week of June, which- itself was highly alarming as indicating ii serious decline in the number of births. - There were more than 50 per cent, more deaths than birljhs during tli': week, although the mortality is somewhat lower than June, owing to tho improvement in food conditions.through, tho availability of fresh vegetables.
