COAL CRISIS IN EUROPE
SHORTAGE IN GERMANY AND AUSTRIA. (Rec. December 26, 5.5 p.m.) Berne, December 25. German and Austrian newspapers state that the coal crisis is Lycoming more dangerous daily. The municipality of Frankfurt-on-Main has compelled restaurant proprietors 10 open their establishments as refuges of warmth for the poor. The Kaiser's Kardinen pottery works at Munich have been closed. A Minister in the Reichstag admitted that Gratz, Trieste, Walzburg, and Lin.s were completely without coal, and declared that Germany was no longoi' ab'o to carry out her engagement to supply Switzerland with 525,000 tonn monthly—Aus,-N,Z.
