It is understood that the _lirst_ batch' of soldiers' votes, representing 70,000, substantially favours the Government's proposals. The figures are wiavailable, but one Minister forecasts .that t'u final "No" majority will to about a hundred Assn. "NO" ' MAJORITY INCREASED TO - . 180,453. ■■■ (Rec. December 27, 1.40 a.m.) • Sydney, December 26. Contrary to expectations, the first batch of soldiers' votes reveals a majority against conscription. Tlvb votes for "Yes" number 17,435, and those for "No" 23,760, thus increasing :ho "No" lead to 180,453—Press Assn.
