CANTERBURY V. OTAGO. By Telegraph-Press Association. Ghristchuroh, Decomber 5. The cricket match between Canterbury and Otago was commenced to-day in beautiful weather, and on an easy wicket. Otago starred badly, two wickets going at 15. Brinsley and Patrick advanced the score to GO, and then Patrick and Holden ■.•arried it to 112, Patrick batting magnificently. Several wickets then fell cheaply, and at 5 o'clock the total was 156 fer eight wickets. Scores: — ' OTAGO.— First-Innings. Alloo, c. Watson, b. Blunt 2 Barren,' run out 10 Brinsley, 1.b.w., b. The team will leave here on Saturday ni"Hc, returning on Wednesday morning. The lads -will be the guests of the home teams during their stay in Christehurch. Mr. B. L. Salmon' will act as manager, and will be assisted by Mr. R. Hendry. .
