FROTH IN THE POT
Sir,—Sorry as we are- to see cur 'Ally Russia in such a state, yet v/e ought to rejoice not on account of the terrible sufferings of the people, but because it is bringing- the ecum to the top; it is revealing the filth and iniquity of the nation. God says Ho will sift, the nations, and as gold has to be put into the melting pot to be purified, so must the'nations be purified, and as ■we are in the last days so must theee things come about. One thing, Mr. Editor, I should like to see is the sur>pression of the German official telegram so continually iu your columns— and many people are of the same opinion—as they always record German victories, and which bo many of cur naturalised Germans like, as their naturalisation does not prevent their being loyal to the Fatherland and deceptive. As well conclude that by putting a. collar on a dog j'ou prevent it from barking as to think that naturalisation would prevent a German from treachery.—l am, etc., HENRY WALTON. Waikanae, December 24, 1917.
