BRITAIN'S WAR AIMS
ITALY REGAINS LOST GROUND ANOTHER REVOLUTION IN RUSSIA EXPECTED BRITISH ARMED STEAMER SUNK - In a. speech, reported at length to-day, Mr. Lloyd George reviows tho war outlook) particularly emphasising the loss of Russian co-operation and tho additional demands thus made on the Allies, and particularly on Great Britain. He emphasises as a memorable event of the'year the creation of an International Council, and declares that so far it has been a conspicuous success. In passing, Mr. Lloyd George alludes to tho difficulties under which the enemy is labouring, and his remarks on this subject find rather striking support in an alarmist article in the German Socialist newspaper "Vorwaerts" which is quoted to-day. Messages from Russia predict the early downfall of the Bolsheviki. The Italians have gallantly recovered a' mountain position lately won by the enemy in his continued offensive on their northern flank.
