The secretary of the Wellington Master Phmihers' Industrial 'Tnion of Employers wntes:—"The executive of my union desires to inform ;.ou that the union is in no way responsible for the action of its members wno have decided to close their piaces of business duriig the holidays. From ii.quiries mado of members; it appears that some employees havo. determined to take holiday irrespective of tho wish or movements of the employer, and the employer has no option but to close up. On tho other hand, many master plumbers will not close down, and employees are prepared to carry on in theii own and the publio 'nterest. Members of the Journeymen Plumbers' t'r.ion have expressed their disapproval with tho resolution passed by their uniou and published in your ,->aper, and have intimated to their employers that they do not wish to he associated with tiiat action."
