TARDY ADVENT OF SNOW Rome, December 20. The snow, which was anxiously awaited by the Italians, is now falling in the mountains. It is the latest winter in the memory of living man. So far it is not interfering with the enemy's offensive; but it is hampering his communications.' A heavy fall would put an end to the offensive which the enemy is preparing against Asolo, with a view to attacking the flank of Monte Grappa.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE GERMAN REPORT. (Rec. December 22,"0.40 a.m.) London, December 20. A German official report states: ' Wo repulsed repeated counter-attacks against our newly-won lines on Monte Pertica. The number taken between the Brenta and the Piavo since December 11 was 270 officers Mid 8150 men—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
