A PETONE BANKRUPTCY

MEETING OF CREDITORS. At the office of the Official Assignee (Mr. S. Tansley) a meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of William Edward Forsyth and Thomas William Stickolls, building contractors, Petone, was held. The Official Assignee presided. The statement submitted showed 'unsecured creditors with debts totalling £1279 16s. 7d.. and tlm total assets were set down at £259 Os. Id. The l'st of unsecured creditors is afi follows— J. Odlin and 'Co., Ltd., Wellington, £195 19s. 5d.; Briscoo and Co., Ltd., £16 10s. 3d.; Bonthorne, Wilson, and M'lntyro, Petone, £107 7s. 3d.; Mainland and Barr, Wellington, £64 10s.; Bailey and Arcus. Petone, £683 13s. 7d.; Wellington Gas Company, Ltd., £51: W. ttennio. Petone, £89; S. Jackson, Rona. Bay, £30; Brownlee and Co.,' Wellington. £21 Bs. ?d.; Jacohson and Co., Petone, £19 19s. Tho assets consist of book debts, £34 10s., cash in hand £2 os. Id., and property £222 10s. In the separate estates of the members of the firm there were a number of secured and unsecured creditors, and in the case of Forsyth it was stated that there was a pronerty in Emerson Street which when sold would probably leavo a surplus, which after the private creditors had been satisfied would Co to tho creditors of the joint estate. The same applied to the private estate of the other member of the firm. The bankrupts stated that they (lid not think their private creditors would lirl'.w ekinis, as they had written to them offering to pay in full if given time. The Assignee stated that no claims had come in from the private creditors, It was stated that there was in the joint estate practically nothing for the creditors. Some money was due from the Government in respect to three cottages in Petone which were in course, of construction, but this money was swallowed up by the holders of liens, who, however, would not receive 20e. in the £. The lien holders were, by arrangement with the Assignee, authorised to complete the construction of the cottages. , The meeting adjourned sine die.
