HUTT VALLEY MOTOR AMBULANCE

A. good attendance of tho members of tho Motor Ambulance Committeo met in the Mayor's room, Petone. Mr. J. W. M'Ewan, Mayor, presided. .Councillor Kerr, Lower Hutt, was also present. Apologies wero received for tho absence of Mr. H. Baldwin, Mayor of Lower Hutt, and Councillor Moldrum. The Petone Fire Board intimated that they would allow this committeo to build a suitable motor shed-on their property, and this was accepted by tho committee with thanks, if suitable arrangements could be made. .'Hie financial statement was read by tho secretary, Mr. AV. B. Gougli, showing £-129 {is. 9d. in hand. An effort is to be mado shortly to augment the fund. The committee expressed thanks to the Gear employees' picnic committeo' for the sum of £12 10s., and to Mrs. L. Buttersly for £1 2s. 3d. Tho committee would be grateful l'or any further assistance, and feels confident. that there aro many residonts in tho Valley who would give if they only knew of the need. Full information will bo given on inquiry. A sub-committee consisting of Mr. W. Clark, Mr. J. \Y. M'Ewan (Mayor), and tho secretary, Mr. AY. B. Gough, was sot up to get quotes for a suitable chassis, also tho cost of building a motor shed, and to make arrangements for a party telephone.
