TEXT OF THE AGREEMENT

The armistice extends from noon of December 17 to Jaiiuarv 14, and applies to the Rus-sian-Turkish theatres in Asia. Troops on the present fronts will not be strengthened or transferred unless tho transfers had already begun beforo the time of signature. The armistice prescribes the conditions for the development of fraternisation. Intercourse is permissible between si u irise and sunset in certain places, where not more than twenty-fivo unarmed persons may assemble simultaneously to exchange newspapers and letters. The., sale of goods is permitted. The armistice applies to the naval and aevial forcos in tho Black Sea and the Baltic. Attacks on merchantmen and waauhips aro to ceaso as Jar as possible. The Russian Government undertakes io guaranteo that tho naval forces of the Entente in theso waters will behaver similarly to the Russians. Seven Armistice Commissions shall meet at M'ga, Dvinslc, Brest Litov'sk Berditchev, Kolosvar, Focsani, and Odessa, to icarry out tho details. An'additional clause in the armistice provides forrta. early military withdrawal from Persia, according to tho prinoiple of the fr«*]pm and independence of a. neutral Persia.—Aus.-N.Z.
