TRAWLERS ATTACKED BY DESTROYERS
INCIDENT OFF THE TYNE. London, December 17. In the House of Commons, Dr. Macnamara announced that two trawlers were attacked by destroyers oft the Tyne. One was damaged and the other sunk. Eight members of the crows were killed.—Router. . , COWARDLY CUT AND RUN. , (Reo. December 19, 1.15 a.m.) London, December 18. At tlie inquest on tho crews of tho fishing trawlerß which were sunk on December 12, the evidence showed that three German destroyers suddenly appeared at 5 o'clock in the norning, and at 200 yards distance sank tho trawlers without warning, and made off without assisting at rescue. British destroyers took off the crews. Four other trawlers nearby were unharmed. Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
