"REMARKABLE COINCIDENCE OF NUMBERS"
Sir.—The correspondent who is responsible for the statement published in your paper this morning has. surely been indulging in a little quiet legpulling', at the expense of the!'H»«W. Bay Herald." He ha* added- together the following elements in. respect of certain reigning sovereigns: -(a), Year of birth; (b) presont age; (c) dote of- commencement of reign; d) duration of reign. The total.» brought out in each case ; at 3834, which is described as "remarkable. it is obvious that if you add (a) and (b) together, the result must be the present vear, 1917. Similarly for (c) and d), so that no matter who » result must always be bnce the number 1917, or 3834. It would ho. indeed re rr.arkablo if it were otherwise— I am, eIC " GEO. W. BARLTOOP. Wellington, December 15, 1917. [Other correspondents write in » similar strain. o*™**ss*™ must always work out as stated. |
