MASTERTON NOTES
At a meeting of the Wairarapa Presbytery, held on Tuesday, it was reported that Knox Church, Masterton, had contributed about £8 to the British and Foreign Bible Society, and that other congregations had promised to make contributions at an early date. Extended leave of absence • for six mouths was granted to the Rev. G. T. Brown and the Rov. T. Halliday, who are.iii France. A concrete wing, capable of accomr modating sixty boarders, ha 6 been added to the Sohvay Girls' Colloge buildings duriug the past year. There are at present sixty-one pupils at the college, including a number from Wellington. Tenders were recently called for the extension of the water supply system at Lansdowne. There was such a discrepancy between the estimates and the lowest tender that the work has been held up. The Masterton Employers' Association has unanimously resolved to observe a holiday on Tuesday, January 2. .... The plans and specifications for the new concreto bridge over the Waingawa River liave been approved by the Masterton County Council. _ The Masterton County Council has at present an overdraft at the bank of £4410 - . . , r The following have been installed officers of the Masterton Lodge of Druids:—A.D., Bro.
