HOPEFUL NOTE FROM SINN FEIN LEADER
A REMARKABLE SPEECH. (Rec. December 12, 7 p.m.) London, December 11. , De Valera, the Sinn Fein leader, in a remarkable speech ill County Cork, said that Nationalist Ireland, whether desiring separation from or inclusion with the British Empire, ought to march shoulder to shoulder with Britain. Neither party should doubt tho other's motives. It is generally believed that this speech signifies that the Sinn Feiners are anxious to pave the way to an understanding if a satisfactory settlement should be offered to Ireland.—Aus.N.Z.
