Woman's Help in Macedonia. Miss Nina Boylo, organiser of the Women's Freedom. League,, recently returned to London, after eight months hospital work in Macedonia. I lefe Macedonia because the hospital unit to S I was attached as orderly was m ton-w needed," said Miss Boyle to a "Dally Chronicle" representative «Tho military authorities have extended their medical organisation considerably, and typhus is .practically nonexistent, while there- is very, httlo malaria Tho medical work jn combatnK epidemics has been marvellous. The Serbs aro unbroken in spirit One cannot say that they aro hopeful or Sinf and they never lose fcuth in the British. They cling to us in tho most paSo way. Their soldiers are the best-behaved men I have ever met. Wo owe much to Serbia. No country has endured the tragedies which have come to her, and we ought to help her ?as much as we can. Macedonia is the most beautiful country I have ever seen and I hope it will never be spoilt by development. It is the strangest tfiinc to find mayors and corporations in N0 tno usiml m S? ns of tansport is by buffalo cart. On one occasion, when we bad a Serbian girl in hospital whoso leg had to be amputated because of a bomb wound, the mayor, in black lad gloves, came to plead with us, on behalf of the parents, not to perform the operation. She would have died if the operation, had not been performed, and it was with difficulty that tho re atives were dissuaded from claiming the leg and taking it away as evidence against I tho doctor."
