After an absence of several months, the Orepuki arrived yesterday afternoon from Timaru and Lyttelton. Genoral oargo for Greymouth will be received until noon today, and the vessel will srH for that port. ROSAMOND FOR NAPIER AND GIB- - is expected that tho Union dbnipany's Rosamond will arrive at Wellington on Monday direct from Duncdin. The vessel will subsequently sail for Napier and Gisborne. CARGO TOR MELBOURNE. The Union Company advise that they will dispateu a cargo steamer for Melbourne at an early date. Intending shippers 6hould make immediate application for space. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Hγ. .J. Duder,. has joined a Union Company's steamer as chief officer, relieving Mr. G. W. Godfrey, who has come ashore to ait for the examination for a master - ! certificate. Mr. A. It. Hunt, teventh engineer on tho Maori, has come asliore. Mr. H. Short, jmrsor, has joined st, Union Company's cargo steamer in that capacity. / Mr. 11. Budge haa joined the Pateena as chief engineer. Mr. W. Cairns, third engineer of that vessel, has come ashore. The arrival of the Mapourika- from the West Coast will be made early this week, the vessel being duo at 9 o'clock this morning. The Mana is duo, this morning from Lyttelton, and will sail this afternoon for Woneanui. Both the Mana and tho Tainui, which sailed last night, will be engaged in lightering work at Wanganul for some days. Tho Komata will .arrive early this morning from Wcstjiort, ond ths Kowhai will leave Greymouth this morning for Wellington. Both steamers have full cargoes of coal for this port.
