THE MAPOURIKA. Last evening the Mapourika sailed on her usual running in the Wellington-Ncl-son-West Coast service, and is due hack at Wellington on Saturday, sailing again on Tuesday. In the following week, the vessel will Bail from Wellington on Monday, December 19—one day early—to ensure her leaving Nelson on Friday, Dpoeniber 21, for the holiday traffic, and arriving at Wellington on Saturday, as ÜBual: THE AMOKURA. The Amokura arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday from the outlying southern islands, among which the vessel had been cruising for castaways and to replenish storo depots whero necessary. Captain Hooper has reported that all of the depots were intact and that no castaways were seen. The Amokura will remain at Port Chalmers for a few days, and will then como on to Wellington, arriving here on Tuesday next.
AUCKLAND KOCK LIGHT. The new light on Auckland Hock, which was gazetted tor December 8, was launched and placed in position on Friday lost, at the west end of the rock. The light is a red one, visible for three miles. The character ot the light is ,2sec. in darkness and Bsec. in light, there being 60 flashes per minute. This light, which has been out ot commission for some months, will bo of great service to masters whoso vessels are entering the port of Auckland at Bight.
An arrival last night was the Blenheim from Ilavclock and bays, where 6he had been collecting wool for transhipment at this port. The vessel will sail to-morrow for the Sounds. The Wootton is due this afternoon, and will sail to-morrow afternoon for the southern port. -~_,. The New Zealand Refrigerating Company's Tainui will arrive to-morrow from Wanganui, and sail in the evening for Lyttelton, receiving cargo until 4 p.m. The Mana will sail to-day for Lyttelton. Tho Anchor Compnny's Waimea will sail this afternoon for Nelson and West Coast. The next Anchor steamer to sail for Nelson and the Coast will be the Kennedy on Monday. . ~ Tho Kamo will arrive this morning with a cargo of coal from Groymouth.

Tho Kini reached Port Chalmers on Sunday morning from Greymouth and Bluif. liter undergoing survey she will load at Tinraru for Greymouth, whero she will afterwards load for Wellington. The Kauioua arrived at Dunedin on Monday with coal from Westpprt. After discharge she "will return to Westport to load for Wellington and Auckland. The harbourmaster at Nelson reports that the trade of tho port for the month of November showed an inoreased tonnage as compared with November, 1916. During tho month 124 vessels entered and left the port, including 19 Union Company .steamers, 87 small steamers, and 17 sailing vessels, with a total tonnage of 24,169, against 23,691'f0r November, 1916. Mr. A. R. Thompson, well known as a purser in the Uion Steam Ship Company's service, who has been invalided home from the front, has gone south.
Mr. L. Bonner, mate of the Baden Powell, has signed oil that vessel's articles, and has joined the Calm as mate, vice Mr. J. Hall. . , Mr. A. Jackson has signed on the Baden Powell as mate.
Mr. G. G. Lang has come ashore from the Corinna, on which ship he was third officer.
