SOLDIERS SENTENCED
DISOBEYING COMMANDS.
In Trentliam Camp orders it ib announced that three soldiers having been-, found guilty by district court-martial of disobeying the lawful commands; given ,by their superior officers have, been sentenced to imprisonment with, hard labour "for two years. The names of the men sentencotl are:--66,191 Pto. M. Lyii.cb, Trentliam Delist) Ptc. R. Tarbutt, Trcntham D Si Pte. T: A. Mills, D Company, 35th Reinforcements. 58,652 Pto. G. A. Murton, Trentliam Details (H Company, 29th Reinforcements), found guilty of—(1) Deserting: His Majesty's service; and (2) Losing, by neglect his equipment, clothing, and. regimental necessarieß, has been sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for 112 days, and to, stoppages to pay for deficiencies of kit amounting to Is. lQd. Tbo sentence has been mitigated so that if the prisoner cmbarks Tor active service outsido of New Zealand before the expiration of the. sentence, then any unexpired portion, of the sentence shall be remitted upon-, arrival at the overseas base of that portion of the Expeditionary Force to which he is attached, and his records shall bo endorsed accordingly.
