NATIONAL EFFICIENCY BOARD
WELLINGTON COMMITTEE OF ADVICE. At a public meeting of citizens convened at the request of the chairman of the National Efficiency Board (Mr. William Ferguson) by His Worship the Mayor, and held in the City Council Chamber on December 1, a Committee of Selection was appointed for the purpose of choosing members of a Committee of Advice for the Wellington metropolitan district to assist the National Efficiency Board in its work. This committee subsequently met and selected the undermentioned gentlemen, who have consented to act. Cabinet has approved of the appointments, and the members havo been allocated to the various branch committees as follow: — Commercial and Professional Com-mitee.-W. J. Bridson, manager, Messrs. J. Briscoe and Co., Ltd.; D. M Findlay, barrister and solicitor; 1!/. i W Hunt, accountant, Messrs. Watkins, Hull, Hunt, and Wheeler; T. A. Hunter, professor of mental science, Victoria University College; A. Leigh Hunt, manager, N.Z. Farmers' Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd.; J. W. F. M'Dougall, president, N.Z. Typographical Association; George Shirtcliffe, manager. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd.; C. H. Young, warehouseman, Messrs. Maoky, Logan, Caldwell, Ltd.; Oscar Kemher, accountant. Retailing and Distribution Committee —W. Allan, draper, Messrs. Veitch and Allan; William Campbell grocer, Messrs. William Campbell, Ltd.; H Hampton, president of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants; J. S Keith, manager, Messrs. E. w. Mills and Co., Ltd.; S. Kirkcaldio, draper,. Messrs. This committee will assist the National Efficiency Board in its work in the Wellington metropolitan district, particularly in view of the calling up of the Second Division. A preliminary meeting of the committee has been held.
