RAILWAYMEN'S PROTEST. The Wellington branch of tlm Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed the following resolution at its last monthly meeting"That owing to the efforts of the A.S.R.S. having failed in trying to get the Government to reduce the cost of living to within tho li'mits of the, wages of the workers, wo regret that the . bonus granted to men of the railway service is to be passed on to the general public in the shapo of increased fares and freights, thereby increasing the burden on the general public, and nullifying tlie value, of the railwaymon's bonus. We trust that the general public will immediately circulate petitions to be presented to tho Government, calling on tlieni to at once take steps to control the cost of living, so as to bring it within'tho wage; of the masses, ot' resign, and give the people an opportunity to elect a Government that will do J
