CIVIL SERVICE TOURNEY. Pine weather favoured the Civil Service bowling tournament, which was played yesterday on the Thorndon and Wellington Greens. The play-off in the one semi-final game and the final game will be nlayed on the Thorndon Green this afternoon. PATRIOTIC GAMES. Patriotic bowls will be played on most of the local rinks this afternoon. It is Snorts Day (No. 2) for the Christmas Gift Fund for our soldiers at the front, and bowlers—Hie majority of whoni are past the age of active military have never been backward at "doing their bit" in a practical way. On the Wellington Clubs green a tournament is to be hold among the members. The entrance will be 2s. a member, and all members will have to pay another shilling (losing skips to collect). After i p.m. there are to be competitions on tho jrroe'n, all of which are likely to add to the fund associated with the day.
