Stratford, November 29. The Stratford A. and P. Association was favoured with beautiful weather for its annual show. One of the features of the. exhibition was the magnificent display of dairy cattle. Mr. Lancaster, judge in the Jersey seotioiij remarked that the exhibits which came before him comprised the greatest ring of that class ever shown in. the Dominion. Mr. A. A. Ward, of Mlro, eecured the obampionship in the bull androserve champion in the cow flassee, and annexed quite a list of other prizes. The champion cow* Lady Binnie was'exhibited by Air. Nicholson, of Hawera. •
In the Friesian section Mr. Gallichan had some magnificent specimens of tEe black and whites to choose from. Mr. Lovelock's bull King of Dom&bes was awarded tho champion in' his class, and was the centre of admiration. Mr. G. A. Marchant obtained the reserve championship. The ohampion cow was that entered by the Lepperton breeders, Clifford Bros., the Lowgarth breeder, Mr. Gardner, finding the reserve champion. In this particular entry all tho cattle were shown in most attractive condition, and the judge spent many minutes before making his decision. • In the Ayrshire division the judge, Mr. Morgan, said this was a popular freed in the Wairarapa, and after an absence of four years he was agreeably surprised at the marked improvement in this type of milker in the interval. He was more than favourably impressed with the quality shown anil considered the exhibitors had cattle fit for any show ring. Questioned regarding the general stamp of cattle, Mr._ Morgan remarked that the exhibits ho had seen that day were equal ;£o the'best in the Dominion; Olson Bros., of Egmont Village, were strongly represented, and obtained both champion and reserve championships in females, whilst W. Hall, the Lepperton faeeder, owned ffie ohampion bull, the reserve going to Mr. P. Bremer, of Ckaiawa.
Pedigree milking Shorthorns saw the Wanganui owner, Oas. Hodges, score heavily with some fine cattle. C. Caldwell (Cardiff) and G. Knox (Tepopo) also scored.

The fat cattle classes secured fair competition, and what were penned showed good prime quality. j ... O'Donnell's (Inaha) Caresse, by King Twylish—Queen Rainbow, 1; A. A, Wayd'u Miro Meadow's Milba," 2; John Nicholson's (Hawera) Hollybank Lady, 3. The champion butter-fat competition proved highly successful. The conditions provided that the cows were to be milked out dry on the owner's farm in the presence of a steward, and samples End - weights were to bo taken from two milkings.. The first ten cows were to be exhibited on show ground. The prizes were:—First £6, second £3 35., and third £2- 2s. Jn all, 32 entries were received, ranging from as far away as Urenui. The' ten winning animals were as follow:—A. H. Halcombe's (TJrenui) Duchess, 471b. milk, test 6.3; fat, 2.9611b.; C. Sym-s onds's (Midhirst) Queenie, 67.5—4.7— 2.702; M. A. Gadsby's (Stratford) Lady Quickstep, 40—6.5—2.6; H. Purdie's (Waitara) Molly, 59.i—4.3— 2.541; G. S. Hobbs's (Inglewood) B°lle, 61H-5-2.5; E. Bennett's (Cardiff) Lady Bird 57-4.3-2,481; H. Gray's (Midhirst) Topsy, J. P. Heggie's (Ngaere) Jersey, 50—4.7— 2.35; A. H., Halcombe's (UrenniV Princess, 41.3—5.6—2,312; E. O'Sullivan's (Cardiff) La Preference, 32.6—7—2.282. S'omo good Berkshire pigs were exhibited, E. H. Jiinnill having the honour of owning the champion boar. J. Patterson also did well, and he proved that good pigs fed on whey could be produced.
The horse section was good,' and T. Perry, of Mnngatoki, was a good winner, his entries gaining quite a number of first honours. A. S. Kendrick, .lanki, also had a fair entry in the draught section, and although up against a veteran ho secured several honours.
