General entries for the Auckland Rac ing LUub's Summer Meeting close to-mor row night. Forfeits for tne. Great Northern i''oiil Htakes, Derby, and Royal Stakes close at the same time, as do ac ccptances for the Auckland (Jup and Rail way Handicap.

The ' Maimwatu Racing Club'a Summer Meeting; will this year be confined to two days. It will be held on Boxing Day and the following day. The programme is framed ou similar lines to last year, and the stake money iB the same. The Cup is worth 700 sovs., and the Fitzhcrbert Handicap 300 sovs. These two events are tho principal races on the opening day. On the following day the. Palmerston North Stakes, wcight-for-ago, six furlongs, will bo run, as well aa the President's Handicap, one milo and a quarter, 400 sovs., and the Awapuni Handicap, 250 Boys. Nominations for all events close at 9 p.m. to-morrow. v

At tho conclusion of tho C.J.C. Meeting Zia (Rokeby—Step'ka), who carried the colours of tho syndicate which raced under the namo of J. Rawdon, was returned to her breeder at Oamaru.

The New Zealand-owned Shrill was heavily supported for the Rosstown Plate at the Caulfleld Mcetini! this month, but niter having every c.litincc and being well placed a furlong from home, she failed to come on, and was beatea out of a place. On. the same day, November 17, her stable companion Saeanof was a runner in the Plying Handicap at lloorefield (Sydney), but 9st. 51b. proved too much for him, and he failed to get a place. It is understood that the horses named are to remain in Australia for tho big autumn fixtures.

The I'orirun, horses Gold Soult, Goldstream, and Portland Lady are being railed to Woodnlle to-day. Tho two former will be ridden thero next week by R. Reed, while H. Burt will ride the hurdlo mare.

Mill Queen, a member of J. Ayree" team, is being sent north for the Woodville Meeting next week. Tho Treadmill filly showed a lot of pace at Masterton last month, where she acted as runner-up to Aore, and those that finished behind Tier included King's Armour, a winner at Ashhurst, and Astrophcl. , Tho Trontham horses with engagements at the Fcilding Meeting arc being railed north to-morrow.

The Welkin horse Three, who is owned by a popular, Mastcrton sportsman, was a runner in the sprint event at Caulfield on November 17. Ho was not marketable, and after showing all his old pace for a few furlongs, h< l . dropped back and finished Inst.

■Battle Song, who did not, do well in the early part of the spring, is now pad-dock-trained, and the change" is paid to hare had a beneficial effect on him.

Miss do- Val is now' quite Pound again, but she is to bo sent to Petone for a week to get the benefit of some exercise in the salt water.

The win scored by Lord Kenilworth in tho Molrose Handicap at Takapuna on Saturday was tho first credited to this colt, who is an Australian-bred three-year-old by Kenilworth (aire of the Derhy winner, Wolaroi) from Yanrtangarnng, by Ayr Laddie—Yashmak, by Pilgrim's Progress from Bright Eyes, an imported mare by Arbitrator.

Four ho.tes havo been secured at EllcrsHβ to accommodate the horees which will represent Sir George Clifford at the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting. Though nothing definite has been decided on, the team may consist of Adjutant, Gamecock, and Long Range, with Wrestler or Sir FancifuJ as the fourth member of the party.

B. Deoley has now a Devby record which will take some boating, the Aucklander having ridden the winuers of the Great Northern Derby, 0..1.0. Derby, A.J.C. Derby, and V.E.C. Derby, h. H. Hewitt has ridden the winner of three of the events mentioned, but has not yet succeeded in capturing tho V.R.C. Derhy. The Auckland horseman had a ride in the Melbourne Cup, steering Eaatcourt, a stable companion of the winner, Weslcourt.
