TO-MORROW-SPORTS DAY

TO CHEER THE SOLDIERS IN THE TRENCHES. To-morrow, civilians will have a great variety of opportunities to oxpress gratitude to their defenders in the firing-line. Surprise-packets, street stalls, guessing competitions and raffles will bo conducted by the sports bodies and lady helpers, to provide parcels of comforts for the fighting men of the big Wellington district. Throughout the day business will be stimulated by Highland piping and dancing. On Saturday afternoon there will be military sports at the Basin Reserve, including mine-firing and bridge-building competitions, with "extras," such as contests in Highland piping and dancing, a fancy dress and poster pageant, and various amusing side-shows. The following is a list of the stalls for tomorrow :—

Association Football (Mrs. Partridge), Boulcott Street—Produce, cakes, confectionery.

. Tennis (Mrs., C. Earle\ Mercer Street—Home-made cakes, scones.

Cricket (Mrs , . A. L. Cox), KelMirn Avenue—Home-made cakes, sweets, and flowers.

Athletics (Miss Clark), Winder's Corner—Fresh fish, flowers. Swimming (Mrs. Farnall), General Post Office (front and back)— Vegetables.

Hockey (Mrs. AVatt), Veitch and Allan's ' Corner—Produco, jam, proserves.

Titigby Football (Mrs. ICinvift and Nurse Kvoritt), Courtonny Place— Ohristinns toys. Special raffles— tli'<"!SP(l doll and bov's tricycle.

Howlers (Sirs. F. J. Evans), Bank of Now Zealand Corner— Groceries, homemade cakes, sweets, and flowers, and a jnmblp stall.

Golf/Mrs. Firth and Miss R. E. Onmbrill), Kirkcaklio and Stains — Produce.
