CRICKET
INTERPROVINCIAL MATCHES.
The Wellington Cricket Association met last evening. Mr. 0. G. Wilson presided, and there were present also Messrs. V. B. Willis, M. J. Crombie, 'A. Bennett, E. H. Ward, and J. D. Howitt. '
Representative matches were proposed as follows:—Wellington v. Canterbury, in Christchurch, on December 25, 26, and 27; Wellington v. (Auckland, in Aucklnnd, on January 3., 2, and 3; Wellington v. Canterbury, in AVellington, on January 19, 21, and 52. The matches to be played on the ■ following conditions:—(l)' Total net proceeds to. be donated for patriotic purposes; (2) all players pay their own expenses; (3) billeting of players to .be arranged for if necessary. The secretary was instructed to writo to the Canterbury and Auckland associations suggesting matches as above. Messrs. M. J. Crombie, S. Brice, and K, Tucker were elected a Selection 'Committee. l . ' The secretary was instructed to write to all clubs who were in arrears ■with subscriptions or other dues, and to state that they would be debarred from playing again until the arrears itvere paid. Tho match between Institute B and Banks College resulted in an.easv win for the latter. For Institute (93 and 45) Ward made 25, M'Farlane 25, Beal ■18, and Reed 20._ For Banks Collego (212 for seven wickets), Foster made 88, Atkinson 60, Macandrew 16 (not out), and Falloon 12. Fowler and Atkinson did the bowling for Banks College.
