' On the Western front there has been further fighting in Bourlon village, which is now a reeking shambles. Haig's thrust at Cambrai has resulted in a paralysis of the supply Sjjitem of the Germans, and the British, having broken the Hindenburg I line, are now threatening Queant, which has been cut off by the desfcj 'uotion of the Cambrai supply system. In Italy the situation is distinctly brighter. The Italians lave made a splendid recovery, arid are now not only holding the enemy's attacks; but inflicting sevEWe losses upon him. The losses in the German ranks in this frightful conflict, in a temperature below zero, have been appalling. The* Russian situation is still more cr less unchanged. The peace movemeint is receiving no encouragement from the Allies; the northern arrbies, starving for three days, without food, are losing by desertions! wholesale.
