TRIAL OF BENNIER, ON CHARGE OF MURDER. By Teletraph-Press Association. Wanganui, November 27. At the Supremo Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Edwards, the trial waa commenced of Frank Bonnier, for the alleged murder of his. wife. It is alleged that on September 9, at Kauangaroa, the prisoner attacked sis persons during the night with an axe, and Mrs. Bennier died in consequence of the injuries received. The evidence for tie Crown was on tho lines of that given in the lower court, witnesses stating that the prisoner was a man of intemperate habits, and had previously threatened to "do for"' his wife. Tho case will be continued to-morrow. The jury is being locked up for the night.
