One of the closest contests that lias ever eventuated between Featherston and Martinborough took place on Saturday, when a shield match was played on the Featherston green. Featherston was successful by three points with one rink and two points with the other. Mr. .1. Kershaw, well known in Wellington howling circles, skipped a Martinborough rink, and recently ied bis quartet to victory against one of tlio best rinks in the Wairarapa.
