ATTITUDE OF PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
ON THE QUESTION OF WAR AND PEACE. By Talegravh—Press Association. Dunedin, November 26. At the Presbyterian Assembly to-day there was a discussion concerning tho recommendation of tho Publications Committee that the Assembly, for guidance of tho editor of the "Outlook," should make a definite pronouncement as to the attitude of the Church on the question of war and peace. Professor Dickie moved to the effect that the Assembly believes there cau; be no stable peace unless the militarypower of tho Central Empires is shattered on tiie field of battle.
Tho llev. Mr, Comer brought forward a motion to the effect that tho Church believes that the only hope of a final elimination of war is through the diffusion of the Spirit of Christ. Professor Dickie's motion was the one discussed, and after tho debato tho Assembly decided to set up a committee to declare the attitude of tho Church.
