DANOE RECITAL. The revival of the dance recital, "Tho Magic Oarpet," in the Grand Opera House on Saturday evening, by the pupils of Miss Gladys Campbell, wa> on entire buocess. The littU play on which the dances are strung has to do ivith a magic carpet that transports the young people and their audience to Wonderland, and in this suitable sotting there are shown the dances of the fairies and tho ballets of the goblins, nymphß, and many other prettily and quaintly-dressed characters. The ohildven did their work well. They were not always fully at home in tho too dancing that formed a considerable part of their effort; but they entered into tho spirit of the performance, and they were assisted throughout by fine dressing and staging, and some excellent lighting effects. The performance was in aid of King George's Sailors' Fund.
Tim was undoubtedly tho slowest person in the neighbourhood. Ho worked the longest hours of any and accomplished the least, Ho was always late. Ho was such a slow milker his wife had to milk the cows. One day during haying, Tim loaned too far out the hay-loft door. He felt himself falling, and ho grabbed at a rope; but lie was too slow. Ho tumbled down thirty feet on to an empty hay wagon. By some miracle, not a bone was broken. Tim was back at work in ten minutes. Looking up at the loft door, then down at the wagon, one of the neighbours asked how any man could fall that distance and not break every bone in his body. Tim's wife offered a solution. "Well," she said, "I think my Tim—he fall slowl"
