' report:—At Palmerston Uorth on Thursday we had only a email yarding, which sold at following prices:—l4-monin steers, £6 45.; forward ,cowa, £9 7s. 6d.; aged cows with oalves. £6 55.; springing heifers, £8 7s. 6d.; springing cows, £9. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington reporting on their Levin sale, hold on 1 Tuesday, state that they had a small t-ntry of sheep and a. good yarding of cattle. All fat «Utle offered met with keen competition, and they quoto tho following prices:—Shorn hoggets, to 265. 7d.; fat hefiefs, £9 155., £10 10s. to £12 55.; fat cows, £8 17s. 6d.. £10 10s. to £12 145.; ■vealera, £2 to £2 10s.; weaner steers, £3 155.; springing cows, £8 to £8 ss. At Otaki on Wednosday they offered a heavy yardiDg of both sheep and cattle, and all classes of stock were keenly competed for, and they report practically a total clearance by tho cloee of the day. Prices realised were as follow:— Sheqp : Light fat shorn ewes, 265. 7d.; fat ewca (woolly), to 33s 3d.; f.m. ewes and lambs,. 325. 6d., 395. to £2; 6-tooth to f.m. wetherH (shorn), 28s. to 335.; Might fat wethers, to 36s 6d. (woolly); 4-to'oth wethers, to 355. 6d. (woolly); email frtooth to f.m. ewei (shorn), 165.; b.f. shorn hoggets, to 275.; shorn 2 and 4-tooth ewea and wethers, 27b. 6d.; woolly hoggets, 345.. 345. Id. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association', Ltd., Stock Department, report having held their annual cattle fair at Eketahuna, when they pubmitted a full yarding of cattle to a medium attend, anco. Bidding at auction wag sluggish, ■and although a number o£ pens wero passed in fair businese eventuated >by private sale. Homo good quality steers and heifers were yarded , , but growii biil'oclte did not come forward. Quotations:—A lino of 30 Polled Angus yearling steers' realised £11 10s.; Polled Angus yearling hoifers, £10 125.; cows and calves, £11 56.; forward empty cows, £8 125.; Holstein steers, £6 10s.; yearling heifers, £4 12s. 6d. to £5; Hereford bull, 36} guineas.
