STORY OF THE CAVALRY OPERATIONS

ITALIANS HOLDING THE ENEMY

RUSSIAN-MOVE FOR AN ARMISTICE

The advance, at" certain points carried tho British line eight miles into the enemy's ground. The British tanks- were soverely tested, but their, casualties were light. The most inspiring feature of the news is the'dispatches covering the operations of the cavalry, whioh, said, one of the correspondents, poured through the gaps made by the tanks and spread-out over tho plain, rounding up and dash- , ingly attacking the enemy. The news from Italy is ' distinctly \ cheering. ■ The Italians, vigorously counter-attacking, have hurled .. back the enemy's massed attacks at several points.
