Cisborne, November 22. There was a phenomenal rainstorm on Wednesday.night and to-day, accompanied by a boisterous southerly sale. Most of the business premises in the main street report _ damage caused by rain entering their shops, and a rough, estimate places the damage at £1000. The Arahura arrived from Napier this morning, but could not be worked on account of the heavy sea, and after standing off and on all day die was ordered to proceed to Auckland, overcarryiiig her mails, passengers, and Ca Tihe' Monowai, from Auckland, was due tliis afternoon, but is not expected till the morning. It is doubtful if it will be possible to tender her. • Considerable losses among* shorn slieep are feared.
