FAILED TO KEEP WAGES BOOK

At tlie Police Court Joseph Mandel, proprietor of the United Service Hotel, wns fined 205., with costs, for failing to properly keep a wages and timebook. F.."Wooler. an employee in tho same hotel, was fined 5s._ for failing to sign a time-book according to regulations. The Inspector of Factories, giving evidence, said the action taken was owing to complaints of long hours worked by servants in the hotel.
