John Sherriff Dods, who last week pleaded guilty to embezzling about £2000 from the Gas Company during the past two years, and was committed for sentence, was to-day committed for trial on a charge of setting fire to tho Gas Company's office, and also on a further charge of stealing £90 on tho night of the fire. Bail was refused.
