PEACE MEETINGS IN GERMANY
SUNDAY NIGHT GATHERINGS. Amsterdam, November 20. Many meetings were held throughout Germany on Sunday night in favour of an early peace. Herr Scheidemann addressed a crowded gathering in Dresden. All the meetings passed resolutions in favour of the Bolshevik peace proposals, including no annexations and no indemnities.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
REBELLIOUS SCENES IN BERLIN. (Roc. November 21, 7.30 p.m.) Amsterdam, November 20. Rebellious scenes occurred in Berlin's working-class district on Sunday, owing to tho police efforts to suppress hunger and _ peace demonstrations. Fierce fighting occurred, in which the polico used their firearms, with, it is reported, heavy casualties—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
