There were very few buyers operating and prices were easier, bidding in some cases not reaching vendors reserves., We quote:-Cattlo: Fat COWS, from £11; store cows. £7; yearling heifers, £5. Sheepr Bhorn two-tooth wethers, 275. On November 14, at Makotuku sale, only a small number of nhecp were penned, with but a moderato yarding of cattle. Bidding was extremely slack and sales hard to make. We quote: Cattle: Yearling heifers, £3 17s. On Noc,r 16, at Da -nnevirke sale, held in Millars Koad yards, there was a fair yarding of Bheep and cattle, and the attendance was good. The demand, however, was very limited, and bidding slack. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report:—We held our annual spring cattle fair in the P.F.A. yards, Pahiatua, on Wednesday, when wo yarded over 900 head of cattle, including several lines of exceptionally good Shorthorn, Polled Angus, and Hereford bullocks. Buyers were present from Manawatu, Wairarapa, Kangitikei, and the local and surrounding districts. Competition for tho bullocks, to a certain point, was fairly good, but owners reserves were not reached at auction, though some of tho lines wero sold privately There was more demand for tho younger cattle, and most of these changed hands at satisfactory prices. We quote:—Four and fivc-yenr Shorthorn bullocks, £17 15s. to £18; four and fiveyear Polled-Angus bullocks, £17 12b. 6d ■ three-year bullocks, £13 ss. to £14 155.: fifteen-months and two-year Hereford £13 Is.; yearling Hereford steers, £10 55.: m.s. Messrs.' Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Pjilmcrston North, report having a very good entry of sheep and a fair yarding of cattlo at their Feilding sale on Friday. With the exception of two pens all lines of sheep changed hands, but cattle were hard to quit. Quotations:—Sheep: Medium two-tooth wethers, 275.; Bmall twotooth wethers, 235. lOd.; mixed-age ewes and lambs, 345. 10d.; light fat shorn ewes, 28s. 2d.; mixed hoggets, 295. 7d„ 31s. 2d., 325. lid., 335.
